The road beckons on a beautiful spring day.
There’s a little brook that’s culverted over. The houses here used to have little limestone bridges over it. Someone’s planted some daffodils
There are hundreds of miles of stone walls here. They are hundreds of years old, built with no mortar, just stones piled on stones.
Unlike many urban areas, there is no shortage of parking here.
Crest of the hill 1.5 miles uphill to this point. Now all downhill to Matlock
Downhill across a farm track
This place is full of quarries. Lots of amazing and dangerous mountain biking here.
Matlock railway station. One line to Derby.
Over the Derwent river bridge. “No love locks”
This is pretty much most of Matlock town
Up the steep Victorian stairs
